DENTON, Texas (Feb. 24, 2023) – Texas Woman's (9-4, 5-1) softball will travel to Lubbock, Texas to take the Lubbock Christian (13-4, 3-3) Chaparrals on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m.

Following game one Saturday evening, the Pioneers will face the Chaps Sunday afternoon in a double header at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Earlier this week Tuesday, Feb. 21, the Pioneers clinched a sweep of Texas A&M International at Dianna Baker Field. In game one, the Pioneers closed in the fifth inning 8-0, followed by a final score in game two of 8-3, and recorded five home runs in total that afternoon.

The Pioneers squeezed pass the Dustdevils in game three on Wednesday, Feb 22, 1-0. Â

The Chaps are currently 13-4 overall and 3-3 in the Lone Star Conference. Earlier this week, the Chaps dominated Midwestern State with a sweep.

In their last matchup against the Chaps, the Pioneers dropped game one 2-3, and in game two gave up 16 points without scoring on April 1, 2022.

Since then, the Pioneers have changed their style of play offensively, to become more strategic from the plate. From the mound, the Pioneers are stacked with a variety of pitchers who can deliver.
