TWU STUNT TAKES A PAIR OF WINS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AGAINST AUSTIN COLLEGE

SHERMAN, Texas (Feb. 5, 2023) - In a star-studded Sunday afternoon performance, Texas Woman's STUNT won their season opener against Austin College. 
 
On Sunday, Feb. 5 the Pioneers traveled to Sherman, Texas to go head-to-head with the Kangaroos. 
 
STUNT performed in four categories including partner stunts, jumping & tumbling, pyramids & tosses, and team routines. 
 
"Today was an amazing start to the season and a good confidence booster before our first major tournament in a couple of weeks," TWU head coach Jasmine Owens said. "We continued to excel in jumps and tumbling while also improving on our pyramids and stunts!" 
 
In their 2022 season, the Pioneers finished 1-13. With high hopes of changing the narrative this year, the Pioneers have put in countless hours at practice and hosted two preseason scrimmages to prepare them for their competition this season. 
 
In their first scrimmage against St. Mary's on Sunday, Jan. 22, the Pioneers fell 26-24. On Saturday, Feb. 4, the Pioneers scrimmaged Austin College and took their skills to the next level, to close the match 20-0. 
 
For their first tournament the Pioneers are headed into the big city of Dallas, Texas where they will compete against Concordia College and Dallas Baptist on Friday, Feb. 17 and conclude with William Jessup on Saturday, Feb. 18.
