DENTON, Texas (Feb. 9, 2023) – Texas Woman's (2-3) softball is set for their home opener in their 2023 campaign against Western Oregon (5-2).

The Pioneers first pitch will go off at 2 p.m. at Dianne Baker Field due to a schedule change. Followed by game two at 4 p.m.

Tomorrow's game will go down in the history books as alumna Bailey Vrazel (Hammack) will be inducted into the Lone Star Conference Hall of Honor. Making Vrazel the first Pioneer student-athlete to receive this prestigious honor.

Following the end of game one Vrazel will be honored on the field by LSC Commissioner Jay Poerner and Associate Commissioner Melanie Robotham. A reception will be held after the conclusion of game two in Hubbard Hall, where Vrazel will be giving additional remarks on her accomplishments.

The Pioneers are coming off two road wins in the DII Spring Invitational in Conroe, Texas.

In game one against Regis, the envelope was pushed to the eighth inning to seal their victory 2-3. Following their victory over Regis, the Pioneers stifled Pittsburg State to claim the final win of the tournament 3-0.

So far the Pioneers have solidified a win, by leading in the first three innings. A lead start will put the Pioneers at an advantage against the Wolves.
