DENTON, Texas (March 20, 2023) – Texas Woman's softball sets the stage at home against the fourth-ranked UT Tyler Patriots, March 21-22.
 
In Lone Star Conference action, the Pioneers (16-14, 10-11) and Patriots (28-4, 16-2) will take to Dianne Baker Field in a doubleheader Tuesday, March 21, beginning at 4 p.m., with the series finale taking place Wednesday, March 22, at Noon.
 
With a weekend sweep in Odessa, Texas, the Pioneers are now 16-14 this season and 10-11 in the LSC. In game one against the Falcons, TWU pitcher Alyssa LeBlanc threw a no-hitter essentially dismantling the Falcons offense. The Pioneers went on to break the school record for most home runs in a single game with seven home runs in game two to cap the doubleheader in a 16-5 victory.
 
On March 18, the Pioneers continued to ride their high note from the doubleheader victory into game three and closed the series 13-2.
 
UT Tyler has continued to power through the conference. With an overall record of 28-4 and a conference record of 16-2, the Patriots have only recorded two conference losses this season to Angelo State.
 
Over the weekend, the Patriots defeated Midwestern State in all three contests. Tatum Goff, the UT Tyler pitcher, recorded her second career no hitter.
 
In their last matchup, UT Tyler trumped the Pioneers on March 18, 2022, 14-0 to close in the fifth inning.

• From the mound, the Pioneers have a total ERA of 2.73 and have struck out 226 of their opponents for the season, with LeBlanc striking out 158 of those opponents.
