WINNER TAKES ALL
- GRAB THOSE OFFENSIVE BOARDS: In their only meeting of the season, the Pioneers grabbed 20 offensive boards against ASU for 15 second-chance points. TWU gave up just nine offensive boards to outrebound the Rambelles 44-33. Sealing their box outs and grabbing the rebound will be key to a championship win on Sunday.
- SCORING THREATS: During their lone matchup of the season, Angelo State shot 54.5% from the three point line. They were led by No. 10 Sawyer Lloyd who went 4-6 from beyond the arc and 13-22 from the field to score 34 points. No. 32 Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. The only other Rambelle with more than two points was No. 12 Madeline Stephens with 14 points. Limiting the scoring of those three players will be key in the matchup on Sunday. Additionally, the Pioneers forced Angelo State into 16 turnovers for just 11 points. TWU will look to take greater advantage of the turnovers today.
- PROTECT THE ROCK: On Feb. 16, TWU had troubles against the press and turned the ball over 17 times for 21 ASU points. The Pioneers will look to protect the ball in the game today. TWU's bench will also be key on Sunday. In their last game, TWU outscored ASU's bench 34-2. Look for the Pioneers bench to play a big role in the championship game on Sunday.
