DENTON, Texas (March 6, 2023) – Texas Woman's softball hits the road for a midweek conference matchup against Angelo State University, March 7 - 8.
 
The Pioneers are set to battle on Tuesday, March 7 at 6 p.m., followed by a double header on Wednesday, March 8 beginning at 1 p.m. at Mayer Field in San Angelo, Texas. The three-game series will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network.
 
After defeating Cameron 2-1 at home last weekend, the Pioneers dominated game one 4-1 and game three 4-3 in an extra inning. TWU dropped game two 2-0, ending their undefeated win streak at Dianne Baker Field.
 
Entering this week, the Pioneers are now 7-5 in the LSC and 13-8 overall. TWU has an on base percentage of .315 and an average of 2.85 runs per game. The Pioneers have scored a total of 13 home runs this season. Leading the charge in batting for the Pioneers is junior pitcher, Alyssa LeBlanc (.344), followed by Ciana Rodriguez (.292) and Kennedy Marlow (.254). All three Pioneers are batting over .250.
 
From the mound, LeBlanc's (7-4) ERA is 1.97, and has recorded 106 strikeouts this season alone. Although the Pioneers have relied heavily on LeBlanc's performance, Kelsie Briggs (3-2) has pitched 30 innings while Jalee McDonald (1-0) clocked 21 innings this season.
 
In their last meeting, the Pioneers dropped both game one, 1-9 and game two, 0-8 (5 inn.) to the Rams on April 3, 2023.
