DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (April 10, 2023) – It was fun in the sun as the Texas Woman's Pioneer Pride competed in the National Dance Alliance College National Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida.
 
The Pioneers touched down in sunny Florida and were ready to compete. On Thursday, April 6, TWU competed in the preliminaries of the Division II Pom and Spirit Rally events. Sure to capture the judges and fans attention, the Pioneers advanced to the finals.
 
In their Pom routine on Friday, April 7, the Pioneers competed against Dallas Baptist, Tarleton State, Northwest Missouri State, and Bentley. With a show stopping performance, Pioneer Pride took 4th place and recorded their highest score in Pioneer Pride history with a score of 93.5429.
 
TWU left it all on the floor in their Spirit Rally routine. Against opponents California State – Dominguez Hills and Oklahoma Baptist, Pioneer Pride brought the crowd to their feet and claimed third place with a score of 91.725.
 
"The Pioneer Pride Dance team made a name for themselves in Daytona," said Head Coach Marisa Martin. "This team truly excelled in two new categories that we have never competed in before. We are thrilled that this program continues to make history and we can't wait to keep pushing and to come back even better next season. I am beyond proud of my team for continuing to work hard and trust me in this process. It was all worth it!"
