DENTON, Texas (April 10, 2023) – Texas Woman's (20-21, 12-18) softball switches time zones as they head to Portales, New Mexico for a Lone Star Conference three-game series.
The Pioneers are set for battle April 11-12 against the Eastern New Mexico (21-24, 13-20) Greyhound's.
On Tuesday, April 11 beginning at 2 p.m. (MT) and 3 p.m. (CST) the Pioneers will take to the Greyhound Softball Field in game one of the three game series. Game two will follow shortly after the conclusion of game one and is set for a 4 p.m. (MT) and 5 p.m. (CST) start time.
The Pioneers are coming off a two-game loss at Dianne Baker Field to Oklahoma Christian, after defeating the Eagles 3-0 in a scoreless game one on Wednesday, April 5. OC battled back on Thursday, April 6 winning game two, 5-2, and capping off the series in game three, 2-1.
In their last meeting against the Greyhounds, the Pioneers dropped two games on April 8, 2022. The Greyhounds had home field advantage with game one ending, 4-2, followed by game two, 3-4. TWU leads the overall series over the Greyhounds, 66-19
With just 12 conference games remaining the Pioneers are sitting in a toss-up for the tenth spot in the LSC tournament. The Pioneers are standing at No. 10 alongside Texas A&M International, while the Greyhounds trail in at No. 12.
