DENTON, Texas (April 26, 2023) – The Texas Woman's gymnastics team continues to add to their star-studded 2024 roster. On Wednesday, the Pioneers announced the addition of Oregon State transfer Kaitlyn Hoiland.

"I am excited to welcome Kaitlyn into the Pioneer family," TWU Head Gymnastics Coach Lisa Bowerman said. "From our first conversation, I was drawn to her passion and love for this sport and for her desire to compete at a high level. Kaitlyn brings a wealth of experience as a student-athlete and will be a strong contributor to our program both in and out of the gym."

Hoiland competed for Oregon State from 2020-23. During the 2021 and 2022 seasons, she was named an Academic All-American. Hoiland owns a collegiate career high of 9.775 on the uneven bars, which she posted at the 2021 NCAA Regionals. She competed both bars and vault for the Beavers.

"The TWU staff and girls have been so loving and caring since the first email I sent," Hoiland said. "I have had an amazing three years at my previous program, but I knew in my heart it was time for a new journey filled with new opportunities. The coaches have already started to inspire me, and I cannot wait to train and grow with them. The girls made me feel right at home the second I stepped into Denton and I knew this was the place for me."

From Kent, Washington, Hoiland trained at Hart's Gymnastics Center for 10 years.

While at Hart's Gymnastics Center, she was a three time J.O. National Championship qualifier. In 2018, Hoiland won the Washington state title on bars and posted second-place finishes on vault, beam, floor and all-around. At the Region 2 Championships in 2019, she claimed the title in all-around, vault and bars and posted a second-place finish on floor and third-place finish on beam.

Outside of the gym, she is committed to community service, having participated in volunteer opportunities at her local food bank, suicide prevention walk and after-school elementary programs.

At TWU, Hoiland will be majoring in Kinesiology.
