DENTON, Texas (May 19, 2023) – After a historic run last season, the Texas Woman's basketball team continues to build a talented 2023-24 roster, most recently, with the addition of local standout Kaylie Morgan.
"We are thrilled to welcome Kaylie to the Pioneer family," TWU Head Coach
Beth Jillson said. "Kaylie brings a tenacious work ethic to the court, which will continue to elevate the positive mentality of our team. Kaylie pursues success in everything she does and will make an immediate impact on our roster."
Morgan, a 5'8 shooting guard from Denton, Texas, played high school basketball at Guyer High School. As a senior with the Wildcats, she averaged 11 points and grabbed five rebounds and was named Second Team All-District.
On Dec. 30, 2022, Morgan posted a stand-out performance in Guyer's non-district victory over Keller. She scored 21 points in the win.
During her high school career, Morgan also earned Denton Record-Chronicle All-Area honors and All-District Honorable Mention.
Success for Morgan did not stop on the court, she also championed success in the classroom. She is a three-time Academic All-District honoree, THSCA Academic All-State award recipient and a TABC Academic All-State student-athlete.
Morgan also devotes her time to community service projects such as Mission Moms and local canned food drives.
Along with playing basketball at Guyer, Morgan also played for Higher Goals for three seasons.
Morgan plans to major in Business at TWU.
"I chose TWU because of the genuine atmosphere," Morgan said. "The people truly want the best for you. The team is so selfless and plays for each other, and I wouldn't want to be a part of anything different."
