PIONEERS RANKED EIGHTH ON WBCA NATIONAL POLL

DENTON, Texas (Nov. 25, 2025) – After starting the season 4-1, the Texas Woman's basketball team was ranked at No. 8 on this week's Women's Basketball Coaches Association National Poll. 

Last week, the Pioneers recorded their fourth win of the season, defeating Southern Nazarene, 78-44. The Pioneers 34-point victory marked their largest margin of victory of the season and largest margin since their 52-point win over Cameron on Feb. 1, 2025. In their last three games, TWU has defeated their opponents by an average margin of 23.3 points. 
 
The Pioneers currently rank first in the Lone Star Conference in field goal percentage, averaging 46.6% from the field. They are averaging 71.6 points per contest, which ranks third in the LSC. 

From the LSC, Lubbock Christian (6-0) joined TWU on the rankings at No. 6. Fellow South Central Region opponent, Colorado Mesa (6-1) moved up this week to No. 15. 

Grand Valley State (4-0) remained at No. 1. Pittsburg State (3-0) and Coker (4-0) are tied at No. 2, while Fort Hays State (4-0) dropped one spot to No. 3
 
TWU will face No. 2 Pittsburg State on the road tonight.
