DENTON, Texas (May 9, 2023) – The Texas Woman's basketball team continues to add talent to their 2023-24 roster, as the Pioneers announced the signing of Caroline Glud Rasmussen, a transfer from Collin College.

"We are thrilled to add Caroline to the Pioneer family," TWU Head Basketball Coach Beth Jillson said. "She is a tough, resilient player who has the ability to knock down the three and play inside.  She is also a tenacious defender who can guard multiple positions. With her experience playing and winning at a high-level program, Caroline will make an immediate impact on our team."

Rasmussen, from Kongens Lyngby, Denmark, played with the Lady Cougars for two seasons. Over the course of two seasons, she started in 59 of 60 appearances and averaged 26.2 minutes per game.

A force on the glass, Rasmussen, a 5-11 guard, grabbed 168 rebounds over the course of her sophomore season, with 27 of those rebounds being on the offensive end.

She also grabbed 66 steals this year, proving to be a strong defensive threat.

Rasmussen hit her career high of 21 points three times during the 2022-23 season and recorded two double-doubles on the season, with a career high mark of 14 rebounds on Feb. 22. She grabbed double-digit rebounds four times throughout the season.

A proven winner, Rasmussen helped guide the Lady Cougars to a 29-3 overall record and a perfect 11-0 at home during her sophomore year.

In 2023, the Lady Cougars became the first team in Collin College history to make the NJCAA National Tournament as the No. 10 seed.

Rasmussen also brings international tournament experience to the Pioneers, having played in the FIBA U18 European Championships Division B in 2017 and 2019, scoring a personal high of 10 points against Kosovo.
