FEELING FINE ON FRIDAY
- STEP BACK IN TIME: The Pioneers and the Lopers have not met since 1998. The two have played only twice previously, in 1998 and in 1993. With both games played at neutral sites, the Pioneers are 0-2 all-time against UNK. TWU will look to change the tides and record the first program win against the Lopers this afternoon.
- A LOOK AT THE LOPERS: UNK went 28-6 in the 2022 season, finishing second in the MIAA regular season and tournament. On the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Lopers were picked to win the MIAA with four first place votes and 92 overall points. UNK was picked 16th nationally on the 2023 AVCA/Taraflex Division II Preseason Coaches' Poll, after closing the 2022 season ranked 15th. The Lopers closed the 2022 season in the NCAA Regional Tournament, falling to Concordia-St. Paul in the first round.
- SCOUTING UNK: The Pioneers have the rest advantage, as the Lopers already played once this morning against Oklahoma Christian. In four sets, UNK recorded 55 kills, 10 aces, 11 blocks, 50 assists and 56 digs. Their clear advantage over Oklahoma Christian came in their 10-4 aces mark. The Pioneers will look to receive the ball well and limit the successful serves from the Lopers. The leader in kills for the Lopers was No. 17 Asha Regier, who recorded 14 kills in the match.
