DENTON, Texas (January 30, 2024) – The Lone Star Conference (LSC) released the Fall 2023 Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll on Tuesday which included 88 Texas Woman's University student-athletes from 6 different sports.
According to the LSC, the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll is announced at the conclusion of the fall and spring semesters with student-athletes qualifying based on grade point average for the current semester. To be eligible, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.30 GPA for the current semester and be on the team's roster.
Of the 88 TWU student-athletes named to the Honor Roll, 40 earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average during the semester.
An increase of over ten student-athletes was made from Spring of 2023 when 75 Pioneers were named on this list.
The soccer team topped the leader board for the Pioneers with 22 student-athletes receiving Honor Roll recognition, marking 79% of their roster recognized with the award. Gymnastics and volleyball recognized 18 and 16 student-athletes, respectively. Softball showcased 14 student-athletes on the list, and basketball celebrated 12 student-athletes. Stunt, recently added as an LSC sport, had six Pioneers receiving the award.
Artistic Swimming, Dance, and Wrestling athletes were not included in the list, because they are not current NCAA sports.
Across the LSC, 2,460 student-athletes made the Honor Roll, including 773 individuals who posted a perfect 4.00 grade-point average.
