TYLER, Texas (Oct. 1, 2024) – After a two match home stand, the Texas Woman's volleyball team goes on the road to face UT Tyler on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. in a Lone Star Conference match-up.
TWU (7-4, 1-1) will meet UTT (5-5, 2-0) for the second time this season.
Last weekend, the Pioneers opened LSC play at home against Lubbock Christian and Angelo State. TWU split the weekend, defeating LCU in four sets and falling to No. 14 ASU in five sets.
On the other side, UTT faced Oklahoma Christian and Cameron in their LSC opening weekend. The Patriots swept OC and beat Cameron in four sets.

- LAST MEETING: The Pioneers and Patriots met earlier this season at the Conference Crossover on Sept. 20 at Texas A&M – Kingsville. TWU claimed the win in five sets, after falling behind 2-0 early in the match. In the match, the Pioneers had a different rotation, due to the absence of Tori Woods. Four Pioneers finished with double-digit kills – Erin Jones, Kady Hansen, Malia Viernes and Cara Pool. Hansen only had two errors in the match on 31 total attacks. TWU hit .226, while UTT hit .222. UTT had the advantage in blocks and aces, so the Pioneers will look to limit those for the Patriots in this meeting.
- A LOOK AT THE LSC: The Pioneers rank eighth in hitting percentage in the LSC (.224), while UTT ranks tenth (.214). TWU ranks fourth in assists, averaging 12.58 per set. The Patriots rank 11th, averaging 11.85 per set. The Pioneers also rank third in the LSC in kills, 13.85 per set, and the Patriots rank 11th 12.63 per set. TWU also ranks second in digs, 17.42 per set, and UTT ranks 14th with 14.12 per set.
- TWU LEADERS: Hansen ranks seventh in the LSC in hitting percentage, averaging .349 on the season. Grace Reynolds ranks 10th in assists with 6.33 per set and sixth in service aces with 0.42 per set. Luna França ranks eighth in digs, averaging 4.25 per set.
