DENTON, Texas (Oct. 17, 2024) – The Texas Woman's volleyball team returns to Kitty Magee Arena on Friday and Saturday to face two Lone Star Conference opponents.

TWU (11-5, 4-2) will meet St. Mary's (12-5, 4-2) on Friday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. in KMA. Then, the Pioneers will face St. Edward's (9-8, 1-5) on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 2 p.m.

The Pioneers are currently on a four-match win streak, which included wins over LSC opponents Sul Ross State, UT Permian Basin and Western New Mexico. TWU is currently tied for fifth in the LSC with StMU.

Most recently, StMU lost their last two LSC matchups at home to UT Tyler and Dallas Baptist – both went to five sets.

St. Edward's has lost their last three conference matchups at home in Austin, Texas. They fell to Oklahoma Christian in five sets. Then, they were swept twice last week by DBU and UT Tyler.

• HISTORY WITH StMU: The Pioneers are 9-10 all-time against the Rattlers. TWU defeated the Rattlers in their past two meetings. Last season, the Pioneers won in four sets, and, in 2022, TWU won in five sets in Denton. At home in KMA, the Pioneers are 3-3 all-time.
• HISTORY WITH SEU: TWU is 9-11 all-time against the Hilltoppers. Last season, the Pioneers defeated them in four sets on the road. Their last meeting in Denton was a loss in four sets in 2022. At home against SEU, TWU is 5-6 all-time.
• LSC RANKINGS: St. Mary's currently ranks second in hitting percentage in the LSC, averaging .249 on the season. TWU ranks sixth in hitting percentage, hitting .232. SEU averages .229 on the season and ranks seventh in the LSC. TWU ranks second in kills in the LSC with 13.91 per set. The Rattlers average 13.79 kills per set and rank third. SEU ranks first in the LSC in service aces, averaging 1.84 aces per set.
