CANYON, Texas (Nov. 20, 2024) - The Texas Woman's volleyball team is set to face off against the five seed Dallas Baptist on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m.
After taking the No. 4 seed in the Lone Star Conference Tournament, their highest seed since 2015, TWU (19-8, 12-4) will play the No. 5 seed DBU (18-8, 12-4).
In the regular volleyball season, TWU defeated DBU following five sets. The win was a first for the Pioneers against the Lady Patriots since 2021. The win also secured TWU fourth place in the LSC rankings.
In the final week of the regular season, the Pioneers went on the road and swept Eastern New Mexico and fell to West Texas A&M. Alternatively, the Lady Patriots defeated Lubbock Christian in their regular season finale.

TDUB ENERGY
- A LOOK AT THE LADY PATRIOTS: After closing out their regular season with a win over LCU, DBU ranks fifth overall in the LSC. The Lady Patriots also rank third in points and second in hitting percentage, as they average .256 on the season. In the NCAA South Regional Rankings, DBU is ranked No. 6. In their last match-up against the Pioneers, DBU managed to connect on 12 aces and hit .273 for a total of 73 kills.
- A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: The Pioneers are coming off of a historical regular season, as they managed to have a 12 game winning streak, becoming their longest win streak since 2006. TWU currently ranks fourth in the LSC and takes the first spot in digs and the second spot in kills. In their match against DBU, the Pioneers defended extremely well as they out blocked DBU 6-5 and committed only 19 attack errors to DBU's 23. As the Pioneers come into the tournament with the No. 4 seed, they hope to display a strong defense in their match with DBU.
- HISTORY IN THE MAKING: TWU's volleyball season has been nothing short of historical. With a win streak of 12 and gaining the No. 4 seed in the LSC Tournament, the Pioneers have remained strong throughout the volleyball season. TWU hopes to continue this momentum throughout the LSC Tournament. Against DBU, the Pioneers will look to limit their reception errors, own the block at the net and limit the long scoring runs of the Patriots.
