DALLAS, Texas (Nov. 5, 2024) – The Texas Woman's volleyball team prepares to meet Dallas Baptist on Wednesday night in a Lone Star Conference match on the road at 6 p.m.
TWU (17-5, 10-2) currently is tied with No. 22 DBU (16-6, 10-2) in the LSC standings at fourth place.
The Pioneers are currently on a 10-match win streak. Most recently, they defeated Texas A&M – Kingsville in four sets and swept Texas A&M International.
On the other side, the Lady Patriots are currently on a five-match win streak – their last loss coming to No. 6 West Texas A&M on Oct. 18, as the Lady Buffs swept DBU.
Most recently, the Lady Patriots swept Western New Mexico and defeated UT Permian Basin in four sets. Their only other conference loss came to UT Tyler in five sets. On the season, DBU is 9-4 at home.

- HISTORY WITH DBU: The Pioneers are 20-19 all-time against the Lady Patriots; nevertheless, TWU has not defeated DBU since the 2020 season. In 2023, the Pioneers met the Lady Patriots in KMA and fell in three sets. On the road, TWU is 8-12, and they are 2-6 in LSC matches.
- CLOSE IN THE STANDINGS: TWU and DBU are near each other in most of the LSC standings. In points per set, TWU is third (17.05 per set), while DBU is fourth (17.02 per set). DBU has the advantage in hitting percentage, ranking second in the LSC and averaging .251. TWU ranks fourth with a .243 hitting percentage. The Pioneers own the advantage in kills, ranking second with 13.99 per set. DBU ranks seventh with 13.34 kills per set. DBU ranks first in service aces with 1.77 per set and fifth in blocks with 1.91 per set. TWU ranks eighth in blocks with 1.86 per set and 13th in blocks with 1.19 per set.
- A LOOK AT A COMMON OPPONENT: Early in the season, the Pioneers fell to East Central in four sets. The Lady Patriots were held to hitting .141 – their third lowest hitting percentage of the season. ECU recorded 10 blocks and held DBU to just three aces. On Oct. 8, the Pioneers defeated East Central in three straight sets. The Pioneers hit .385 on the match, recorded nine blocks and 11 service aces.
