SAN ANGELO, Texas (Dec. 6, 2024) – An incredible season.
The Texas Woman's volleyball team returned to the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament for the first time since 2015. They recorded their best record in Lone Star Conference action since 2015, and their longest win streak since 2003. They also defeated No. 22 DBU on Nov. 6, marking their first win over a ranked team since 2017.
The Pioneers broke barriers and made history during the 2024 season.
TWU (19-10, 12-4) closed their season in the first round of the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament on Friday, Dec. 6 against the three seed and No. 3 in the nation MSU Denver.

- The Pioneers were held to hitting .045 on the match, while the Roadrunners hit .243.
- MSU Denver won the blocking category 13-3.
- The two teams tied in digs with 50 each.
- In the first set, the score went back-and-forth and stayed close, as TWU did a good job of stopping the scoring runs of the Roadrunners.
- After a kill by Jones, TWU led 14-11 in the first set. MSU Denver responded by scoring three straight, but a kill by Viernes halted their run to keep TWU in front 15-14. Then, the Roadrunners took a 16-15 advantage, before a block by Stockman tied it up at 16 each.
- After the 16-16 tie, the Pioneers were unable to reclaim the lead. Two straight points scored by MSU Denver brought up set point, 24-20. A service error held them a bay momentarily. Then, a Roadrunners' kill ended set one in favor of MSU Denver, 25-20.
- To start set two, the Pioneers jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead, off kills by Jones, Cara Pool and Tori Woods.
- After a MSU Denver service error, TWU would lead 8-7, which would be their final lead of the second set. Following the 8-7 lead, MSU Denver would mount an 11-0 run to push their advantage to 17-9.
- TWU struggled to ignite their offense throughout 25-21, this game. TWU closed the match on a 3-1 run; however, MSU Denver would never trail for the remainder of the set, as they won set two, 25-17.
- MSU Denver opened set three with a 4-1 run. After a kill by Viernes brought TWU within one, 6-5, MSU Denver scored six straight to take a 12-5 lead.
- Late in the set, a kill from Clayre Pullin ignited a 3-0 run to bring TWU within seven, 21-14.
- The Roadrunners would close the match with three straight points to win the set and win the match, 25-16.
