PIONEERS SET FOR A DOUBLE HEADER AGAINST HENDERSON STATE

 DENTON, Texas (Feb. 13, 2024) - The Texas Woman's softball team will look to extend their victory strike against Henderson State as they travel to Arkadelphia, Arkansas on Tuesday, Feb. 13 for a double header against HSU.

TWU got the season going at the DII First Pitch Invitational in Conroe, Texas where they recorded their first win on the road against Colorado Mesa 9-0, who then would drop its next four games. 

REDDIES REPORT

Henderson (3-5) started their season hosting the Hawkins-McGhee Memorial Tournament recording a win and five losses. They defeated Missouri S&T (2-1) and lost to Northwest Missouri State twice, Missouri Southern twice and Northeastern State.

HSU then collected two victories against Delta State Saturday, Feb. 10. 

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Brooke Johnson for Henderson had a dominant performance that ended in their first win. Johnson allowed two hits and one walk while striking out seven of the 17 batters faced. 

Alyssa LeBlanc had a stellar first game against Colorado Mesa, pitching zero hits and runs and recording 11 strikeouts. LeBlanc also batted two hits against CMU and hit her first home run in that same game.
