DENTON, Texas (Feb. 17, 2024) – The Texas Woman's gymnastics team returns home to Kitty Magee Arena on Monday, Feb. 19 for a quad meet against Alabama, Arizona and Arkansas.
TWU will welcome three teams for a President's Day Meet on Monday at 2 p.m. The Pioneers will be honoring cancer awareness during the meet, as each gymnast competing on Monday will be wearing a ribbon to honor and raise awareness for a type of cancer. Fans will also have the opportunity to choose a ribbon to wear at the entrance.
Make sure to arrive early for the meet, as the NCAA National Championship trophy will be at KMA before the meet. Fans will have the opportunity to take photos with the trophy. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m.
Additionally, all fans can receive free admission with the donation of a
nonperishable item. In partnership with TWU CARE, the Pioneers are hosting a donation drive. All items donated will benefit the TWU CARE Minerva's Market, which provides resources for TWU students.
KMA will be the place to be on Monday afternoon!

HOME SWEET HOME
- MARCH-IN: The Pioneers are back at home after being on the road on Feb. 9 in a quad meet at Oklahoma. The Pioneers will compete at home this week on Monday, Feb. 19. Then,they will go on the road to Utah State on Friday for a dual-meet week. At OU, the Pioneers scored a 194.575. Their season high is a 195.475, which they set at home on Feb. 3 against Missouri. The Pioneers highest event the past two meets has been floor, where they are ranked 48th.
- FABULOUS FRESHMEN: In back-to-back meets, freshman Sophie Hernandez has scored above a 9.9 on floor, scoring a 9.950 against Missouri and a 9.925 at OU to lead the Pioneers. In the last meet, four true freshmen were in a lineup for the Pioneers and made big impacts. TWU has had four MIC Newcomers of the Week this season.
- HISTORY: The Pioneers have competed against Arkansas twice. The last time the two teams met was in 2020, when the Razorbacks came to Denton. TWU has competed against Arizona nine times. Most recently, the Pioneers traveled to Arizona last season in January. Monday will mark Arizona's first time in Denton since 2019. Monday will also mark the first time the Pioneers have competed against Alabama.
