DENTON, Texas (Feb. 25, 2024) - The Texas Woman's softball team concluded their 3-game series against Lubbock Christian University on Sunday, Feb. 24, winning the overall series 2-1.
TWU (9-7, 7-2) battled LSC conference foe LCU (6-7, 5-4) at Dianne Baker Field, as the Pioneers were victorious in games one and two on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2-1 and 1-0. The Chaps responded and took game three to avoid the sweep.

LeBlanc was the lone Pioneer to reach home plate on a Rodriguez single after hitting a double herself. The Pioneers and Chaps held each other under wraps from that point on as TWU closed out LCU to secure their second win.
Going into the last game, the Chaps came out swinging to secure a win on their trip to Denton. LCU started the scoring off with a home run by Skylar Herrera. TWU converted on their scoring opportunities in the second inning with a Davies triple to score Piper Morton, who doubled in her attempt at bat. Both teams kept the bat hot and were aggressive with their base running to score two more runs each to make it 3-3 going into the fourth inning.
LCU added another run in the ensuing inning to go up one score before tallying two more in the top of the seventh. The Pioneers saw their chances to turn the tide with loaded bases in the bottom of the sixth, but the Chaps were able to escape the inning and get the final out.
TWU has a quick turnaround and are back at Dianne Baker Field for a double-header against Angelo State this week on Feb. 27 at 1 & 3 p.m and Feb. 28, at 4 p.m.
