DENTON, Texas (Feb. 26, 2024) - The Texas Woman's softball team is on the diamond at Dianne Baker Field this week for another home series against Angelo State on Feb. 27-28.
TWU (9-7, 7-2) will battle ASU (15-4, 6-3) for the first time this season in a 3-game series. The double-header game is on Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 1 and 3 p.m. The final game of the series will be on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m.
This past weekend, the Pioneers went 2-1 in their home season opener series versus Lubbock Christian. TWU took games one and two with final scores of 2-1 and 1-0. LCU then went on to take game three on Sunday to avoid the road sweep. ASU enters the matchup after going 0-3 in Tyler, Texas in their series with UT Tyler, 5-3, 6-1, and 8-1.Â
The Pioneers have just one home loss this season and will look to have another strong showing this week against the Rambelles.

HISTORY
ASU previously swept the Pioneers the last time they faced during the 2023 season in their battle in San Angelo, Texas. The last time TWU defeated ASU was on Feb. 2, 2019, when they dominated the Rambelles 12-2. That win was the largest margin of victory between the two ever.
TWU will continue their home stretch starting Tuesday, Feb. 26, against ASU, who are ranked fourth in the LSC while the Pioneers remain in third place.Â
