ST. CHARLES, Mo. (March 22, 2024) – It's postseason time for the Texas Woman's gymnastics team.
TWU will compete in the Midwest Independent Conference Championships at Lindenwood against the Lions, Southeast Missouri, Illinois State and Centenary. The Pioneers head into the championship after closing the regular season with their second 196 team score of the season – a 196.125 at home against Centenary.
With a lot of momentum, the Pioneers enter the MIC Championships as the third ranked team in the MIC, by NQS. Illinois State ranks first and Lindenwood ranks second.
The Pioneers have won three MIC titles in program history. Their last program title came in 2022, when the Pioneers hosted the championships in KMA.
During the regular season, TWU set several historical marks. They set a new program record for season opener (193.775), highest home opener score (194.700), highest score on floor (49.375) and new attendance record (1,305). Additionally, they scored two 196 team scores in the regular season for the first time in program history.
Two Pioneers also set new individual program records on events.
Daisy Woodring set a new individual program on vault of a 9.950. Then,
Kaitlyn Hoiland set a new individual program record on bars of a 9.950.
TWU will look to set more historical marks in the post season.
