DENTON, Texas (March 5, 2024) - The Texas Woman's softball team will take on Rogers State in a doubleheader this week at Dianne Baker Field on Wednesday, March 6.

TWU (11-11, 9-6) will face RSU (14-4) for the first time this season in a 2-game series. The doubleheader game is on Wednesday, March 6, at 2 and 4 p.m.

This past weekend, the Pioneers went 0-3 on the road against No. 2 ranked West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas. TWU battled WT in a 3-game series where the Pioneers gave the Buffaloes a good test in game one as West Texas A&M won 5-3. WT went on to shut out TWU in the next two games of the series to stay undefeated over the weekend.

Rogers State is coming off two run rule wins over Rockhurst in their last time out on the diamond. The Pioneers are the Hillcats' last nonconference opponent before starting conference play this weekend against Northeastern State on Saturday, March 9.

HISTORY
RSU has won the last five matchups between the two teams as the Hillcats last defeated the Pioneers in 2022 at the Arkansas Tech Winter Invitational in Conroe, Texas. The last time TWU defeated Rogers State was on Feb. 5, 2016, at the SAU Softball Invitational in Magnolia, AR. TWU outlasted the Hillcats 5-3.
