RALEIGH, N.C. (March 9, 2024) – After a meet on Friday night in Baton Rouge, La., the Texas Woman's gymnastics team will travel to Raleigh, N.C. to compete in a quad meet hosted by NC State on Sunday, March 10 at 3 p.m.
TWU competed on Friday, March 8 at the Purple and Gold Podium Challenge against LSU, Auburn and George Washington. The Pioneers scored a 194.725 in the meet.
Brooke Ferrari scored the highest individual score of the meet for TWU, recording a season high 9.875 on the uneven bars. TWU scored their highest event score of the meet on the uneven bars behind Ferrari's 9.875.
Daisy Woodring topped the Pioneers' leader board on two events. She led TWU on the vault with a 9.825 and on floor, scoring a 9.850.
On Sunday, TWU will meet NC State, Penn and Penn State. It will mark the Pioneers first trip to Raleigh since the 2019 season. Most recently, TWU competed against NC State in Kitty Magee Arena in 2023 and scored a 195.575 to NC State's 196.375.
Sunday will mark the fourth meeting between the Pioneers and the Nittany Lions. They also competed against each other last season in Denver, Colo.
As for Penn, the Pioneers have already competed against the Quakers once this season on March 3 in KMA, which marked the first meeting between the two teams. On March 3, TWU defeated Penn 196.275 to 194.825.
The Pioneers currently hold their highest national ranking on vault.
Kaitlyn Hoiland has the highest vault NQS for the Pioneers of a 9.840.
Sunday will be TWU's final road meet of the 2024 regular season.
