WEST CHESTER, Pa. (April 12, 2024) – The Texas Woman's gymnastics team is set for Day One of the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championship.
TWU will compete in Semifinal Session 1 on Friday, April 12 at 1 p.m. CST. They will face Cornell and Air Force, as the top two teams will advance to tomorrow's final competition.
TWU will also be competing to advance to Individual Finals on Sunday, April 14. The top five individual finishes in each event will move on to Sunday's competition.
TWU will start the competition off on floor.

SEMIFINAL FRIDAY
- LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers last competed at the MIC Championship on March 23 at Lindenwood. TWU finished second behind the Lions with a 195.875, which marked just a tenth off their program record score at an MIC Championship. Emma Brkljacic scored a career high on beam at the meet of a 9.900. Daisy Woodring claimed the event title on floor with a 9.900. Additionally, Kaitlyn Hoiland claimed the vault crown with a 9.875.
- PIONEERS AT USAGs: TWU has a strong history of scoring their highest team scores in the post season. Their program record for highest team score is a 196.525, which they scored in the USAG Finals in 2018 to claim the title. Last season, the Pioneers opened the semifinal session with a 195.475 to advance to the finals. TWU's season high is a 196.275, which they scored in KMA on Sunday, March 3 against Oklahoma, Clemson and Penn.
- ROTATION: The Pioneers will start off the afternoon on floor against Air Force and Cornell. TWU ranks second in USAG on floor and are led by Sophie Hernandez on the event. For the second rotation, they will compete on vault where they are led by Hoiland and rank first in USAG. Then, they will move over to the bars. Hoiland also leads the Pioneers on bars, as they rank third in USAG behind Lindenwood and Air Force. The final rotation of the day for TWU will be the beam, where they rank second and are led by Brkljacic with the highest NQS.
