Dear STUNT The Sport,

What a wild ride it has been. Although I haven't known you long, I have loved every second of it. Growing up as a cheerleader from the age of 2, I never expected to love a sport so much that did not incorporate a performance aspect, however, I have absolutely fallen in love with you. You have given me the opportunity to continue doing what I love so much on the collegiate level.

Coming into TWU, a first year program, I did not know what to expect. I was nervous, yet so excited to be able to start a legacy. I will forever be grateful to be an OG, and to have had a small impact on this amazing program over the past 3 years. I hope that every team member after me sees the legacy we have created, and works to continue growing the impact of TWU STUNT.

STUNT, you have taught me leadership, versatility, empathy, reliability, confidence, accountability, but most importantly to me, perseverance. No matter what was thrown at me and my team over the past 3 years, we overcame, we conquered, and we achieved. I am thankful for all of these qualities, and I will not forget a single one of them. In fact, they will be utilized in my daily life and future career, and that is all thanks to you, STUNT.

I would not be who I am today without you. My love for STUNT and Cheerleading is one that will never be forgotten. My love for you began in a moment, grew over time, and will last an eternity. I may be done as an athlete, but you will always be a part of my life. Whether that is from a coaching standpoint, fan, or future parent of an athlete, I will always remember the good times and memories that we have shared.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, STUNT. You have given me a purpose, an outlet, and a reason. I am excited for your future. To those that come after me always remember, "If not you, then who? If not now, then when?"

Forever In My Heart,

Laurel Jones
