CANYON, Texas (May 1, 2024) – Ahead of the Lone Star Conference Tournament, the Texas Woman's softball team celebrated their regular season accomplishments at the LSC Banquet.

Along with celebrating their journey to the postseason, two Pioneers were honored with All-LSC awards.

For the fourth time in her career, Alyssa LeBlanc was named First Team All-LSC. Additionally, freshman Piper Morton was selected for the All-LSC Freshman Team.

"I am extremely proud of both Alyssa and Piper," said TWU Head Coach Gay McNutt. They have both had incredible seasons, and I am so proud of them for receiving recognition of this by LSC coaches. For Alyssa to finish her career as one of the best pitchers in the LSC is a very special accomplishment. Piper has had an impressive start to her collegiate career. This is just the beginning to what I know Piper can accomplish in the LSC."

In her fifth and final year, LeBlanc continues to stand upon the top of the LSC as one of the best pitchers in the conference. She ranks No. 1 in strikeouts on the season in the LSC and No. 8 in the nation with 223 strikeouts. LeBlanc also ranks 11th in the LSC in ERA, 2.32. She currently sits 15 strikeouts away from throwing 1,000 strikeouts in her career.

LeBlanc also ranks first in innings pitched in the LSC, having pitched 180.2 innings on the season. Additionally, along with ranking first in the LSC in strikeouts, she also ranks first in batters struck out looking with 78 on the season. When she's not pitching, LeBlanc also plays first base for the Pioneers. She has 135 putouts on the season with a .983 fielding percentage.

On offense, LeBlanc leads the Pioneers -- hitting .336 on the season with 44 hits. She has hit 11 doubles and 10 home runs, also adding 26 RBIs.


In her first season with the Pioneers, Morton is hitting .310 with 14 runs, 27 hits and 15 RBIs. She has hit three doubles, two triples and two home runs. At shortstop this season, Morton has 41 putouts. 

Morton becomes the first Pioneer named to the LSC All-Freshman Team since 2022.
