KINGSVILLE, Texas (Sept. 18, 2024) – After their home stand at the Denton Volleyfest, the Texas Woman's volleyball team goes on the road to compete in the Conference Crossover hosted by Texas A&M – Kingsville on Sept. 19 and 20.

TWU (4-3) will meet the host TAMUK (7-2) on Thursday, Sept. 19. They last played the Javelinas on Nov. 4, 2023 at home in Denton, Texas, and the Pioneers claimed the win in five sets.

On Friday, Sept. 20, the Pioneers will meet UT Tyler (3-3) in Kingsville, Texas. TWU is 5-7 all-time against the Patriots. In 2023, the Pioneers fell to UTT at home in four sets.

CONFERENCE CROSSOVER

• A LOOK AT THE JAVELINAS: The Javelinas have lost just two matches. They fell on Sept. 6 to Minnesota Duluth in five sets. Then, on Sept. 11, they fell to Adams State in four sets. Most recently, in the Mountaineer Volleyball Classic hosted by Western Colorado, the Javelinas went undefeated with wins over Academy of Art, Fort Lewis, Washburn and Western Colorado. The Javelinas currently rank second in hitting percentage in the Lone Star Conference, hitting .229 on the season. They also rank third in kills with 13.38 per set. Additionally, they rank second in blocks, averaging 2.38 blocks per set.
• A LOOK AT THE PATRIOTS: The Patriots started off their season 0-3 with losses to East Central, Dallas Baptist and Bentley, with DBU and Bentley both receiving votes in the AVCA National Poll. Then, in the Oklahoma Baptist Fall Tournament, UTT went undefeated, with two five set wins over Southwestern Oklahoma State and Oklahoma Baptist. They closed the tournament with a sweep over McKendree. The Patriots currently rank 11th in hitting percentage (.181) and 12th in kills (11.60) in the LSC.
• PIONEERS IN THE LSC: TWU currently ranks eighth in the LSC in hitting percentage, averaging .209 on the season. They rank fourth in kills with 13.38 per set. The Pioneers also rank second in digs, averaging 17.38 per set. Kady Hansen ranks sixth in the LSC in hitting percentage (.339). Luna França ranks fifth in digs, averaging 4.76 per set.
