DENTON, Texas (Sept. 28, 2024) – After defeating Lubbock Christian, the Texas Woman's volleyball team returns to Kitty Magee Arena to continue Lone Star Conference action against No. 14 Angelo State.
TWU (7-3, 1-0) will meet ASU (11-1, 1-0) on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m.
Last night, the Pioneers opened LSC action against Lubbock Christian, defeating the Lady Chaps in four sets. The Rambelles faced Midwestern State in their first LSC match and swept the Mustangs.

- HISTORY: Last season, TWU and ASU met on the road in San Angelo, Texas and fell in four sets. In their least three meetings, the Pioneers have lost in four sets. TWU last defeated the Rambelles at home in 2018 in five sets. The Pioneers are 18-44 all-time against the Pioneers. They are 12-14 at home against ASU.
- A LOOK AT THE RAMBELLES: ASU has wins this season over three ranked opponents – No. 15 Colorado Mesa, No. 20 Dallas Baptist and No. 3 West Texas A&M. Their only loss of the season came on Sept. 6 against No. 23 Central Oklahoma in five sets. The Rambelles hold their opponents to the second lowest hitting percentage in the LSC at .174. They rank first in hitting percentage on the season, averaging .255 per match. Sophomore No. 6 Madi Parrish leads the offensive charge for ASU, she averages 3.69 kills per set and hits .258.
- DEFENSE IS KEY: Last night, the Pioneers finished with 13 total blocks – their most since 2022. The Pioneers currently average 1.63 blocks per set, which ranks 10th in the LSC. ASU currently averages 1.76 blocks per set, which ranks seventh in the LSC. Protecting the net will be key in this match today.
