LOS ANGELES (Jan. 29, 2025) – The Texas Woman's artistic swimming team opened their season with a win over UCLA, 105-80.
The Pioneers celebrated a clean sweep at the meet to claim the victory over the host Bruins.
TWU debuted strong routines in all categories at the meet. The Pioneers took first and second in team, trio, duet and solo.
In the Figures portion of the competition, TWU also placed among the top. The Pioneers posted the top 5 placements in A Figures. They took home first, second, third and fifth in B Figures, and, in C Figures, the Pioneers were atop the rankings in first and second.
"This victory was a fantastic opportunity for our team to get our feet wet, build chemistry and gain valuable competition experience," said TWU Artistic Swimming Head Coach
Barb Nesbitt Ng. "I'm incredibly proud of how we came together, showcased our hard work and set the foundation for the season ahead. I believe we better understand the path ahead of us to the U.S. Collegiate National Championship, and we're ready to keep pushing forward."
TWU will be back in action on Feb. 8-9 at a meet hosted by University of the Incarnate Word. The Pioneers will compete against UIW and The Ohio State University.
