DENTON, Texas (May 14, 2025) – Following their success at the 2025 U.S. Collegiate Championships, Pioneers received five individual awards.

At the conclusion of the 2025 USA Artistic Swimming Collegiate Nationals, All-Americans and All-Collegiate Awards are given based on individual scoring at the championship.

For the second time in program history, the Pioneers celebrated multiple All-Americans. Maya Schwickert earned her second straight All-American honor, and Eva Lafontan earned her first career All-American honor. Lafontan, from Toulouse, France, earned honorary honors, as all international student-athletes received honorary All-American status.

According to the U.S. Collegiate committee, "Being named an All-American is a tremendous honor that represents the pinnacle of athletic achievement at the collegiate level. It signifies not only exceptional talent and dedication in a given sport, but also recognition from coaches, peers, and national organizations for hard work, leadership, and consistent performance. Earning All-American status places an athlete among the elite in the country, validating years of training, sacrifice, and perseverance. It is more than just a title – it's a legacy that reflects a commitment to excellence both in and out of the pool."

At the 2025 Collegiate Nationals, Schwickert placed 10th in A Elements – receiving the highest placement in Collegiate A Elements in program history. Then, for the second straight season, she placed third in the solo competition. She swam in the trio event and placed fifth. Then, in the team event, Schwickert and Team Minerva finished seventh.

Lafontan, at her first Collegiate Nationals, placed fifth in solo. Then, she also swam with Team Minerva, which finished seventh.

Schwickert and Lafontan were both named All-Collegiate Award winners, along with Lisa Kizis. The awards are split into Division award winners, and the Pioneers swept the Division II awards.

Kizis swam in the trio competition with Schwickert, which placed fifth. She also competed with Team Minerva, who placed seventh.

This marked the second straight All-Collegiate Award for Schwickert and the first career awards for Lafontan and Kizis.
