DENTON, Texas (April 9, 2026) - Six Pioneers were named to the  2026 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) All-Academic Team on Wednesday.

To be eligible for the list, student-athletes much be at least a sophomore academically, complete one full year at the institution, compete in a minimum of 50% of competitions and have a 3.0 or higher grade point average.

Seniors Candela Fidalgo Garcia and Kimberly Poitras each earned their third consecutive All-Academic honor. Fidalgo Garcia is majoring in kinesiology - exercise science, while Poitras is pursuing a degree in kinesiology - pre-physical therapy.

Sophomore Maria Fernández-Montenegro Serrano received All-Academic recognition for the second consecutive season. She is majoring in biochemistry.

Sophomores Eva Lafontan, Jennah Hafsi and Lisa Kizis were named to the All-Academic Team for the first time. Lafontan is pursuing a degree in kinesiology, Hafsi is majoring in psychology — pre-occupational therapy, and Kizis is majoring in psychology.
