STANFORD, Calif. (April 7, 2026) - The Texas Woman's artistic swimming team delivered another strong performance on the national stage, placing fourth overall at the U.S. Collegiate Nationals with 64.5 points.
Competing at Stanford, the Pioneers continued their streak of top-four finishes behind champion Stanford University (98), followed by the University of Incarnate Word (83) and The Ohio State University (82).
The Collegiate Nationals began with figures competition, where TWU showcased depth and technical precision. In C Figures, Jerusalem Temple captured a first-place finish, while Mathysse Begine followed with a second-place result. In B Figures, the Pioneers claimed the overall team title, led by standout performances from Nadia Crits, Alice Vitor Guimaraes Tenorio and Olivia Jisa, finishing ahead of Ohio State.
In routine competition, the Pioneers demonstrated resilience and consistency. Candela Fidalgo Garcia stepped in as a last-minute alternate in the duet and secured a fifth-place finish with a basemark-free swim. The A Team (Kendrick) achieved a milestone moment with its first basemark-free routine of the season.
In the team free event, TWU placed seventh and eighth, with both teams delivering strong, consistent performances to close out the meet.
Overall, the Pioneers saw the majority of their routines finish basemark-free, highlighting the team's technical growth and execution throughout the season.
Beyond competition results, TWU was recognized for its excellence outside the pool. The program had the highest number of student-athletes earning a perfect 4.0 GPA among all teams at Nationals. The Pioneers also exemplified sportsmanship by assisting a Florida club team without a coach, helping them warm up prior to competition and supporting them throughout the event.
"Overall I am very proud of how they performed this season," said head coach Courtney Griffith. "The team continues to impress me with their athleticism and sportsmanship. Having a majority of routines finish basemark free is a testament to the team's technical skill and dedication. TWU was recognized for having the most athletes with a 4.0 GPA out of all collegiate teams competing at Nationals, and the team also stepped up and helped out a club team from Florida that did not have a coach, by helping warm them up before competition and cheering for them. The TWU Artswim team is more than just great athletes, it's also a group of teammates dedicated to high performance academically and demonstrating good sportsmanship. I congratulate all the athletes on their performances this season, and look forward to leading such a dedicated team next season."
With another top-four finish and a season defined by strong performances, academic excellence and sportsmanship, the Pioneers continue to build on their legacy at the national level.
