DENTON, Texas (Jan. 31, 2025) – After a 43-point victory on Thursday night, the Texas Woman's basketball team returns to Kitty Magee Arena to host Cameron on Feb. 1.
TWU (20-1, 13-1) will meet Cameron (2-16, 0-14) on Saturday at 2 p.m. – it will be the second meeting between the two teams of the season.
On Thursday night, the Pioneers defeated Oklahoma Christian, 82-39, behind a strong season high 14 points and 14 rebounds from
Gabby Elliott. Cameron, on Thursday, met UT Tyler on the road and fell, 74-53.
TWU will be honoring Breast Cancer Awareness for their Play4Kay Game on Saturday. All fans are encouraged to wear pink.

- LAST MEETING: The two teams met prior this season on Jan. 3 in Lawton, Okla. The Pioneers won the game, 66-47. Three Pioneers finished in double-digits. Ashley Ingram scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, while Leila Patel and Gionna Carr both added 11 points. TWU shot 44.4% from the field and 35.3% from the three point line. They scored 30 paint points, 26 bench points and had 12 points off turnovers. They held Cameron to shooting 27.3% from the field and 20.7% from the three point line.
- GUARD THE THREE POINT LINE: Cameron ranks sixth in the LSC in three pointers made per game at 6.9. TWU holds opponents to the second lowest three point percentage on the season at 25.3%. As a team, TWU averages 29.6% from the three point line. On Saturday, the Pioneers will look to defend the three well, while connecting on threes on offense.
- TOP SCORERS: For Cameron, No. 22 Shamica Smith ranks third in the LSC in points per game with 15.2. As a post player, she averages 55.6% from the field (second in the LSC) and 8.8 rebounds per game. For TWU, Ingram ranks sixth in the LSC in points per game with 14.8. She is shooting 47.1% from the field (eighth in the LSC) and grabbing 8.5 rebounds per game. Scout Huffman leads the Pioneers in field goal percentage, averaging 59.3% from the field, which ranks first in the LSC.
