Box Score 2 CONROE, Texas (Jan. 31, 2025) – The Texas Woman's University softball team finished the first day of the 2025 DII First Pitch Invitational undefeated, earning two run-rule victories over Saint Martin's and No. 21 Colorado Mesa. The Pioneers delivered dominant performances against both the Saints and Mavericks, securing solid victories to start the season in Conroe.
The Pioneers came out swinging in their first matchup against Saint Martin's, racking up a remarkable 12 hits in an 11-1 victory. Allison Gonzalez started in the circle for TWU, and as a team, the Pioneers limited the Saints to one run on six hits.
In their second matchup, TWU defeated No. 21 Colorado Mesa 10-0 in five innings. Junior Hawwa Townsend led the charge with a grand slam in the third inning, driving in four runs. The Pioneers' offense was explosive, adding three runs in the second inning and finishing with 10 total runs. Randi Crawford pitched a shutout with no earned runs, allowing just two baserunners through the first three innings.

With the solid start, the Pioneers improved their overall record to 2-0. TWU will face Missouri Western State and Pittsburg State tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 1, at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
