AUSTIN, Texas (October 17, 2025) – In a clash of two of the winningest programs in the state of Texas in the past three years, the Texas Woman's basketball team will meet the University of Texas for an exhibition game on the road on Oct. 27.

TWU, who last season went 33-2 to record their fewest losses in program history, closed the 2024-25 season ranked sixth in the nation. They made their second straight Sweet Sixteen appearance, as they hosted the South Central Regional Tournament for the second straight year.

The Longhorns closed their 2024-25 campaign 35-4 and went a perfect 17-0 at home. They ended the season in the Final Four against No. 2 South Carolina. It marked their second straight season in the Elite Eight and first time back in the Final Four since 2003.

The Pioneers will meet Texas on Monday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Admission will be free to the game.

It will be the first time to catch the 2025-26 Pioneers in action.

"We are looking forward to this opportunity against a premier Division I institution," TWU Head Coach Beth Jillson said. "We are excited to take the court, play in front of a fun crowd and showcase our team. We have been working hard and brining the energy each and every day in practice, and we will approach this with the same tenacity and heart we aim to bring to every game this season."
