TYLER, Texas (Oct. 4, 2025) – The Texas Woman's soccer team suffered their first loss of the season Saturday, falling 2-0 on the road to UT Tyler. The win marked the Patriots' first-ever victory over the Pioneers in the all-time series.

Despite the Pioneers (8-1-1, 4-1-1) controlling much of the pace, UT Tyler (6-1-2, 3-1-2) capitalized on second-half opportunities, scoring twice on four shots to secure the home win.

• '71: UT Tyler opened the scoring after catching TWU out of position, taking a 1-0 lead.

• '78 : The Patriots added a second goal, executing a counterattack with numbers to put the game out of reach.

"Not our day today," Head Coach Babak Abouzar said. "We created some quality opportunities but just didn't execute well enough to finish them. Credit to UT Tyler for converting two chances and making two goal-line stops on really good shots of ours. Your first loss of the season is always tough—especially after the start we've had—but we'll learn from it and bounce back."
