DENTON, Texas (Dec. 4, 2025) – For the first time since 2018, two Texas Woman's volleyball players received American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-South Central Region honors.

Junior libero Alyssa Rojo and senior PIN Tori Woods both were named to the All-South Central Region team, receiving Honorable Mention honors.

"What a great honor for Alyssa and Tori to end the season with," TWU Head Coach Jessica Ransom said. "These athletes continue to raise the bar for TWU Volleyball and have earned the recognition."

Most recently, Rojo was also named to the 2025 D2CCA All-South Central Region Second Team. In her 111 sets played, she averaged 5.60 digs per set with 622 digs total on the season. She also posted a .953 reception percentage and 26 total service aces. She ranked first in the Lone Star Conference in digs per set and 10th overall in NCAA Division II. She was named the LSC Newcomer of the Year and to the All-LSC Second Team.

Woods closed her senior season in a strong manner. She played in 94 sets and recorded 315 total kills to average 3.35 kills per set. She also finished with 13 total aces and 269 total digs. On the season, she averaged 3.66 points per set. During the season, she eclipsed 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs. At the conclusion of the regular season, she was named to the All-LSC First Team and to the LSC All-Academic Team. Woods also earned LSC All-Tournament Team honors.

Rojo and Woods become the 20th and 21st AVCA All-Region awardees from TWU. They are the first since 2023, but it is the first time since 2018 more than one Pioneer claimed the award.

From the South Central Region, Madi Parrish from Angelo State was named the Player of the Year, Karyna Werley fom MSU-Denver was named the Freshman of the Year and Jenny Glenn from MSU-Dever was named the Coach of the Year. 

According to the AVCA, "there are 14 All-Region team members and six honorable mention selections for each of the eight Division II regions. Additionally, a Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and Coach of the Year were selected for each region."
