DENTON, Texas (July 23, 2026) – Excellence in academics remains a cornerstone of Texas Woman's Athletic programs.

For the 22nd time in program history, the 2025-26 TWU Volleyball Team claimed the 2026 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.

To qualify for the award, a program must maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least a 3.3. For the 2025-26 academic year, the Pioneers posted a 3.536 GPA.

The AVCA honored 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball programs with the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award.

According to the AVCA, "It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."
