WICHITA FALLS, Texas (Feb. 27, 2025) - The Texas Woman's University softball team (9-3, 5-3) is back on the road this weekend for matchups with Midwestern State (4-13, 1-7) and No. 7 West Texas A&M (18-0, 8-0).

The Pioneers are coming off a challenging weekend at home, where they faced No. 4 Angelo State and No. 22 Lubbock Christian. This weekend marks the 65th and 66th meetings between TWU and MSU, and the 63rd and 64th matchups with WT. In their most recent series against the Mustangs, the Pioneers won two of three games last season at Dianne Baker Field. Meanwhile, the Lady Buffs have won 13 consecutive games against the Pioneers in their all-time series, including a home sweep last year in Canyon, Texas. Coach McNutt and the Pioneers will look to turn things around and aim for an upset over the undefeated conference foe.

In their most recent matchup on Monday, Feb. 24, the Pioneers hosted Lubbock Christian and split the two-game series. After securing a solid 4-1 win in the first game, LCU bounced back with an 11-1 victory in the second.

The Mustangs will look to bounce back and defend their home field at Mustang Park.

Against Cameron, WT won games one and two, 4-3 and 8-1, respectively. In Edmond, Okla., the Lady Buffs claimed both games against OC, winning 5-4 and 9-0.

  • A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: Texas Woman's University is ranked seventh in the LSC with a 9-3 record. The Pioneers are looking to build on their road trip. Last weekend, they split two games each against No. 4 Angelo State and No. 22 Lubbock Christian. Against Angelo State on Saturday, the Rambelles took control early to win 10-0. The Pioneers bounced back with a thrilling 5-4 victory, marking their first ranked win of the season.
