Box Score 2 DENTON, Texas (March 16, 2025) – The Texas Woman's University softball team wrapped up another home weekend at Dianne Baker Field on Sunday with a doubleheader against Texas A&M International, splitting the games in Denton. TWU (14-10, 10-10) shut out the Dustdevils (15-16, 7-11) 6-0 in game one, marking their fifth shutout of the season. However, the Pioneers dropped game two, 9-4, despite a late rally to split the doubleheader.
In game one, TWU jumped out to an early lead with a first-inning grand slam from Malarie Medina, putting the Pioneers up 4-0. TWU continued to build on that momentum with a solo home run by Lauryn Davies in the second inning and an RBI single from Vivica Hernandez in the fourth. The Pioneers finished the game with a 6-0 victory.
A slow start to game two, however, left TWU in a 9-1 hole that proved too deep to overcome. Despite a strong late push, the Pioneers fell 9-4, allowing Texas A&M International to even the series.
