EDMOND, Okla. (March 20, 2025) - The Texas Woman's University softball team (14-12, 10-10) will face a quick turnaround this weekend as they travel for matchups against No. 18 Oklahoma Christian (19-11, 12-8) and Cameron (15-13, 8-12).
The Pioneers are coming off a hard-fought sweep of Oklahoma Baptist on Wednesday, March 19, at Dianne Baker Field. This weekend's games will mark the 29th and 30th meetings between TWU and Oklahoma Christian, as well as the 65th and 66th matchups with Cameron. In their most recent meeting, the Eagles won five of the last six contests against TWU, including a 3-0 sweep in Edmond. Meanwhile, TWU holds a 34-29-1 all-time advantage over Cameron and will look to build on that lead.
In their most recent games, the Pioneers fell short in both contests against Oklahoma Baptist. Despite strong comeback efforts, the Bison were able to take control in each game, scoring a combined 20 runs over the two contests.

A LOOK AT THE EAGLES: are currently ranked fourth in the Lone Star Conference standings. Their last win came on Sunday, March 16, with a 2-0 sweep over St. Mary's. However, they were swept by Rogers State in a pair of close games at the Lawson Softball Complex. Oklahoma Christian will look to bounce back and defend its home field against the visiting Pioneers.

A LOOK AT THE AGGIES: The Aggies sit in 12th place in the LSC standings. On Tuesday, they defeated Southeastern Oklahoma State in both games of their doubleheader, winning 8-3 and 16-11. Cameron will look to continue its winning streak and keep its offense rolling as they face UT Tyler and TWU this weekend.

A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: The Pioneers are ranked ninth in the LSC with a 10-10 conference record. After a tough sweep against Oklahoma Baptist on Wednesday and two home splits with Texas A&M-Kingsville and UT Permian Basin, TWU aims to turn things around. Offensively, the Pioneers are one of the stronger teams in the conference, with several players ranking in the top 10 for various hitting categories. Hawwa Townsend is second in the LSC for total doubles (12), while Lizzie Smith ranks ninth in on-base percentage (.527).
The Pioneers will face Oklahoma Christian tomorrow at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. in Edmond, Okla., at the Lawson Softball Complex. On Sunday, they will take on Cameron in Lawton, Okla., at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
