DENTON, Texas (April 24, 2025) – The Texas Woman's University softball team (20-26, 16-24) will close out Lone Star Conference regular season play this weekend at Dianne Baker Field, hosting Cameron (27-21, 20-20) and No. 16 Oklahoma Christian (35-15, 28-12).

The Pioneers are looking to bounce back after a tough road trip to No. 3 UT Tyler on Tuesday, where they dropped both games in back-to-back 8-0 shutouts.

This weekend will mark the 67th and 68th all-time meetings between TWU and Cameron, and the 31st and 32nd against Oklahoma Christian. Earlier this season, the Pioneers split their series with Cameron in Lawton, Okla., on March 23. However, Oklahoma Christian swept TWU in Edmond, improving their series record to 20-10 against the Pioneers.

FINISH STRONG

  • A LOOK AT THE AGGIES: Cameron sits sixth in the LSC standings and enters the weekend riding a seven game win streak. The Aggies swept St. Edward's and St. Mary's last week and will look to maintain momentum heading into the conference tournament.

  • A LOOK AT THE EAGLES: Oklahoma Christian is currently fourth in the conference and on an eight game win streak of their own. The Eagles recently swept the Saints at home and aim to keep rolling into postseason play as well.

  • A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: TWU is ranked 12th in the LSC and is fighting to finish strong at home. While a spot in the conference tournament is uncertain, the Pioneers are focused on closing out the regular season strong. Offensively, Hawwa Townsend is tied for sixth in the LSC with 15 doubles, and Marissa Espinoza is tied for eighth in stolen bases with 14 on the year. In the circle, pitchers Allison Gonzalez and Randi Crawford rank among the LSC's top 15 in ERA, opponent batting average, and batters struck out.

TWU will host Cameron on Friday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., followed by Sunday's doubleheader against Oklahoma Christian at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., all at Dianne Baker Field in Denton, Texas.
