PIONEERS PREPARE FOR HOME OPENING WEEKEND AT DENTON VOLLEYFEST

DENTON, Texas (Sept. 11, 2025) – After opening their season on the road, the Texas Woman's University Pioneers return home to Kitty Magee Arena for their annual Denton Volleyfest tournament on Sept. 12 and 13.

TWU (2-2) claimed their first set of wins on the road in California. One win came in the APU Tournament against Regis, winning in four sets. The other win came in the Golden Eagle Classic against Vanguard, also winning in four sets.

This week, they will play four matches – two on Friday and two on Saturday.

TWU will play their home opener on Friday, Sept. 12 at 12:30 p.m. against Arkansas-Monticello. Followed by their second match of the day at 4 p.m. against UT Tyler. Then, the Pioneers will close the Denton Volleyfest with two matches on Saturday, Sept. 13, opening the final day at 11:30 a.m. against Arkansas Tech. Finally, they will play in the final match of  the Denton Volleyfest at 7 p.m. on Saturday against Southern New Hampshire.

Against Arkansas Monticello, the Pioneers hold a commanding 7-1 advantage in the all-time series against the Blossoms, including a perfect record at Kitty Magee Arena.

UT Tyler and the Pioneers are 6-8 all-time, including a 2-3 record at home. The two teams last met in October 2024, when the Patriots earned a 3-0 win in Tyler.

Against Arkansas Tech, The Pioneers are 3-3 all-time, this will be the first time the two teams are meeting in a decade, with the Pioneers sweeping them in 2015.

Southern New Hampshire and the Pioneers are meeting for the first time ever, setting the stage for an exciting debut match-up between the two programs.

After four matches in 2025, TWU is hitting .146, while limiting their opponents to a lower hitting percentage. Myracle Stockman leads the Pioneers with 36 kills, Kiana Reed tops the team in assists with 75, and Alyssa Rojo paces TWU in digs with 67. These early-season leaders will be key as the Pioneers look to build momentum at the Denton Volleyfest.
 
HOME SWEET DENTON

  • Tickets for the Denton Volleyfest are available for purchase online.
  • Fans may purchase single-day passes for Friday or Saturday or a two-day pass for Friday and Saturday.
  • Reentry is allowed on all days of the tournament.
  • All TWU athletic events follow a Clear Bag Policy.
  • No outside food or drinks are allowed.
  • Pets and ESA animals are prohibited; only certified service animals are permitted.
  • Children under five do not require a ticket.
  • All matches will be live streamed on FloSports for fans unable to attend.

  • A LOOK AT ARKANSAS MONTICELLO: The UAM Blossoms began their 2025 season at the Kathleen Brasfield Invitational, hosted by Angelo State in San Angelo, Texas. After four matches, they are still searching for their first win. Offensively, the Blossoms are hitting -.002, while their opponents are hitting .271, and they are averaging less than one ace per set and 1.4 blocks per set.
  • A LOOK AT UT TYLER: The UT Tyler Patriots opened their 2025 season at the Patriot Classic in Tyler, Texas. They recorded a 3–1 victory over Mississippi College but dropped their other three matches. Offensively, the Patriots are averaging 13.7 kills per set with a hitting percentage of .172, while defensively, they are averaging 2.0 blocks and 18.9 digs per set. The team will look to build on their lone win as the season progresses.
  • A LOOK AT ARKANSAS TECH: The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns opened their 2025 season at the Tiger Invitational, hosted by Fort Hays State in Hays, Kansas. They faced Northwest Missouri State and Fort Hays State on the first day, dropping both matches. The following day, they secured their first win of the season with a 3–0 sweep over Cameron. Offensively, the Golden Suns are averaging 12.7 kills per set with a hitting percentage of .166. Defensively, they are averaging 17.5 digs and 1.6 aces per set. They will look to build on their momentum as they continue their season.
  • A LOOK AT SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE: The Southern New Hampshire Penmen began their 2025 season at the Stan Spirou Field House in Manchester, New Hampshire, facing Felician University and the University of Minnesota Crookston. They were swept in both matches, falling 3–0 to Felician and 3–0 to Minnesota Crookston. Offensively, the Penmen are averaging 5.7 kills per set with a hitting percentage of .038, while their opponents are averaging 12.2 kills per set and a hitting percentage of .222. Defensively, SNHU is averaging 12.8 digs per set and 1.2 aces per set. They will look to rebound as they continue their season.
