DENTON, Texas (Sept. 17, 2025) – The Texas Woman's volleyball team returns to Kitty Magee Arena this week for two nonconference home matches against Lone Star Conference opponents.
TWU (6-3) will host St. Mary's (2-6) on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. in KMA. Then, the Pioneers will face Dallas Baptist (5-1) on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m.
The Pioneers are coming off a road test at Central Oklahoma, where they became the first team this season to take a set off the nationally ranked Bronchos, falling in four sets. Before that, TWU had won four straight, including sweeps over UT Tyler, Arkansas Tech, Arkansas-Monticello and Southern New Hampshire.

Alyssa Rojo was named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Most recently, St. Mary's dropped three straight, falling to Florida Southern, Central Oklahoma, and Fairmont State.
Dallas Baptist enters the week on a three-match win streak with victories over Wayne State, Daemen, and Clarion. The Patriots are led by outside hitter Karly Wells, who is averaging 5.29 kills per set on .282 hitting to open the season, ranking among the top attackers in the LSC.

- On Thursday night against St. Mary's, the Pioneers will be hosting their annual Pack the House Night inside Kitty Magee Arena. Fans are encouraged to come out, fill the stands, and bring the energy as TWU takes on the Rattlers. All TWU students can enter to win

HISTORIC RIVALS, FRESH ENERGY
- HISTORY WITH StMU: The Pioneers and Rattlers are tied 10-10 all-time. TWU has won the last three match-ups, including a four-set victory in 2023 and a five-set thriller in Denton in 2022. At home in KMA, the Pioneers hold a 4-3 advantage over the Rattlers.
- HISTORY WITH DBU: TWU holds a narrow all-time edge over Dallas Baptist, 21-20. The Pioneers are 10-7 at home in Denton but 9-12 on the road. Most recently, TWU fell to the Patriots in straight sets on Nov. 21, 2024 in the LSC Tournament.
- A LOOK AT THE NUMBERS: TWU enters the week averaging 12.2 kills per set, .218 hitting percentage, 2.1 aces per set, 17.6 digs per set, and 2.2 blocks per set. St. Mary's is averaging 10.2 kills per set, .165 hitting, 1.8 aces per set, 14.9 digs per set, and 2.1 blocks per set. DBU has opened the year at 12.4 kills per set, .209 hitting, 1.7 aces per set, 16.7 digs per set, and 2.0 blocks per set.
