DENTON, Texas (Jan. 21, 2026) - The Texas Woman's basketball team returns home after two key Lone Star Conference road wins.
No. 3 TWU (15-1, 9-0) brings the action back to Kitty Magee Arena, returning to play in front of their home crowd. The Pioneers will face Midwestern State (4-10,1-7) on Thursday, Jan. 22, at 6 p.m. for Pack the House Night.
Later in the week, TWU will take on No. 15 Lubbock Christian (15-3, 7-2) on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m.
The Pioneers enter the week on a 14-game winning streak and remain undefeated on the road at 9-0 as they look to keep the momentum going at home.

A LOOK AT HISTORY: TWU and Midwestern State have met 54 times, with the Pioneers winning four straight following their most recent 63-45 victory in 2024. TWU is 3-2 in their last five matchups with Lubbock Christian. The Lady Chaps defeated the Pioneers 62-54 in the NCAA South Central Regional Final at KMA last season. LCU holds a 7-5 advantage in the all-time series. This week marks TWU's first meetings against both opponents during the 2025-26 season.

TWU IN THE LSC: Texas Woman's rank third in the Lone Star Conference in scoring, averaging 73.1 points per game, and second in scoring defense, holding opponents to 56.0 points per contest. The Pioneers' average scoring margin of 17.1 points ranks second in the LSC. TWU leads the conference in team field goal percentage at 46.6% and also ranks first in free throw percentage, shooting 75.2% from the line.Â

PIONEER LEADERS:Â For the third time this season, Gabby Elliott was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week following two wins over St. Mary's and St. Edward's. Elliott averaged 24.5 points and nine rebounds per game while shooting 72.4% from the field. The honor marked her fifth LSC Player of the Week award this season. Elliott ranks fourth in the LSC in scoring at 16.8 points per game, first in rebounding at 10.9 and third in field goal percentage at 55.6%. Her rebounding average ranks 11th nationally in Division II. She also leads TWU with 22 blocks and ranks third in the conference at two per game. Averee Kleinhans ranks third in the LSC in scoring at 17.2 points per game and leads the Pioneers with 56 assists and 30 steals. Kayla Glover (56.9%), Elliott (55.6%) and Julie Kasonga (55.6%) all shoot better than 50% from the field. Kleinhans (41.3%) and Avery McConnell (44.4%) both shoot 40% or better from three point range.
