DENTON, Texas (Oct. 7, 2026) – The Texas Woman's volleyball team returns to Kitty Magee Arena this weekend for a pair of Lone Star Conference matchups against St. Edward's and St. Mary's.

The Pioneers (5-11, 2-4) open the weekend against St. Edward's (9-8, 4-3) on Friday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. for Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night before hosting St. Mary's (10-7, 3-4) on Saturday, Oct. 10 for Alumni Day.

TWU enters the weekend following a pair of road matches against Sul Ross State and Western New Mexico.

The Pioneers continue to showcase a strong defensive presence, recording 1,048 digs and averaging 17.5 digs per set through 16 matches.

At the net, TWU has totaled 124 blocks and averages 2.1 blocks per set. The Pioneers have also recorded 745 kills and 687 assists while hitting .178 as a team.

Offensively, TWU averages 12.4 kills and 11.5 assists per set. The Pioneers have also recorded 91 service aces averaging 1.5 per set.

Defensively, TWU has held opponents to a .191 hitting percentage while recording 29 solo blocks and 190 block assists.

St. Edward's enters Friday's matchup with a 9-8 overall record and a 4-3 mark in LSC play.

The Hilltoppers have recorded 813 kills and 741 assists while hitting .189 as a team. St. Edward's averages 13.1 kills and 12.0 assists per set.

At the service line, the Hilltoppers have recorded 108 aces and average 1.7 per set.

Defensively, St. Edward's has totaled 935 digs and averages 15.1 digs per set. The Hilltoppers have also recorded 75 total blocks and average 1.2 blocks per set.

St. Mary's enters the weekend with a 10-7 overall record and a 3-4 mark in conference play. The Rattlers have recorded 908 kills and 836 assists while hitting .238 as a team.

St. Mary's averages 12.4 kills and 11.5 assists per set.

At the service line, St. Mary's has totaled 145 aces and averages 2.0 per set.

Defensively, the Rattlers have recorded 983 digs and average 13.5 digs per set. St. Mary's has also totaled 133 blocks and averages 1.8 blocks per set.

In the LSC rankings, TWU ranks third in digs per set (17.23), fourth in blocks per set (2.15) and ninth in assists per set (11.47). 

St. Edward's ranks fourth in kills per set (13.11), seventh in assists per set (11.95) and seventh in service aces per set (1.74). 

St. Mary's ranks third in service aces per set (1.99), fourth in hitting percentage (.238) and eighth in blocks per set (1.82).

Several TWU players rank among the LSC leaders in multiple statistical categories.

Alyssa Rojo ranks second in digs per set (4.98), while Mary Grace King sits ninth in kills per set (3.20) and points per set (3.58).

Lorena Gómez ranks seventh in assists per set (6.53). Montserrat Soto-Talavera ranks fourth in blocks per set (1.02).

Trinity Blackwood sits eighth in blocks per set (0.91).
