DENTON, Texas (Nov. 3, 2026) - This week, the Texas Woman's soccer team continued their national saga, securing prominent positions across both major national rankings and regional standings.

In the latest NCAA Division II Power Index (NPI) rankings, the Pioneers reached No. 12 nationally while holding firmly to the No. 2 spot in the South Central Region. The NPI evaluates programs based on match results and strength of schedule, serving as a key benchmark while postseason NCAA Championship selections remain regionally determined.

TWU's momentum is equally reflected in the national coaches' poll, where the Pioneers surged to No. 19 in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Top 25 Rankings. The recognition marks TWU's 10th consecutive week featured in the national rankings.

The national recognition follows a dominant stretch of play highlighted by a 3-0 road shutout victory over Lone Star Conference opponent Angelo State to cap off the regular season.

The Pioneers finished regular season play with a strong 15-1-2 overall record and have outclassed opponents on both ends of the pitch. Through 19 matches now, TWU has outscored opponents 39-3 and outshot them 345-103, averaging 2.05 goals per match while surrendering just 0.16.

Freshman Lauren Wade leads the Pioneer attack with 10 goals, including five game-winners, while Giselle Gutierrez has added five goals and a team-high nine assists. Bri Luna has contributed three goals and four assists to the balanced offense.

In the South Central Region, top-ranked Dallas Baptist leads the field, followed by TWU at No. 2. Rounding out the top region contenders are Midwestern State, Regis, University of Colorado Colorado Springs, Colorado School of Mines,Colorado Mesa, Oklahoma Christian, Fort Lewis College, and Black Hills State, a competitive field that will dictate postseason seeding across the Lone Star Conference and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

The Pioneers' focus is set on the NCAA Regionals. TWU will gather for Monday's NCAA Selection Show watch party at 6 p.m. on the third floor of Pioneer Hall to determine their fate and see who their round of 64 opponent will be. Doors open 30 minutes before the show.
